I imagine a world where communities are connected, honouring the diverse gifts of each person and recognizing the resilience in their differences. I see a world rooted in respect, responsibility, and sovereignty, where challenge is faced with both curiosity and a trust in our shared capacity. I dream of a world where communities are emergent and responsive, taking agency in their evolution and growth.
I see systems built in right relationship with change, based in the understanding that the change will happen anyways, so we have a duty to steward it with integrity.
Since I was young, I knew I wanted to help build communities that are connected, thriving and vibrant. Vibrant Systems exists as a pathway towards people-first change management.
As a Community Mentor, I gather likeminded community champions and builders, to expand their capacity for connection, growth, and transformation. Together, we are expanding our collective capacity to hold space for change, and to claim agency in how our communities and systems evolve through time.
Rooted in values and a vision for a brighter future, my mission is to take steps every day to help make community building more accessible and impactful for others called towards this path.
My name is Danielle Hauck. The work I do is deeply influenced by the life path I've walked.
Born in Calgary, AB, my parents moved us to a small hobby farm when I was only three-years-old. They taught me the importance of both vision and the hard work it takes to make that vision a reality. Their dedication built the house around me, and planted the trees that now tower above us. I saw firsthand how growth is not always quick, but over time, it is inspiring.
I finished my undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Psychology in 2020, and pursued my Masters of Public Health from 2021-2023. These degrees taught me skills, like evaluation and understanding complex systems. More importantly, they reinforced the importance of connections, community, and what it means to work with people as partners.
My first experience applying these skills was in rural climate adaptation, where I witnessed both the desire to respond to challenges and the helplessness many feel at the enormity of them. I realized we cannot have holistic responses to challenges if we cannot allow space for the emotions they invoke.
Vibrant Systems is emergent. It has emerged out of my personal experiences, what I have learned from others, and the vision I hold in my heart. The work I do--whether it is helping a community develop a Drought Management & Response Plan or hosting a community meditation circle--emerges from the needs of those I work with. I expect my business will grow and evolve, just like the native grasslands have changed since I first moved to rural Alberta. I, for one, am excited to see the growth the future holds.
Land Acknowledgement
I live and work on the traditional lands of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations, and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. I also work across Turtle Island, and work in the traditional territories of all Turtle Island’s First Peoples.
As a student of the decolonial movement, I recognize my presence in Treaty 7 Territory as a settler, and my responsibility for living in right relationship with the sovereign nations of this region. Alongside continually deepening my understanding of how colonization harmed and continues to harm land and peoples, it is my intention to help foster pathways for transformation towards harmony for the traditional peoples, plants, animals, and all those who have come to call this land home. In integrity, I understand that my mindset and actions are the first place of transformation, and that this growth is ongoing.
